Publication Ethics
The International Journal of Youthquake Research (IJYR) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical publishing and adheres to internationally recognized best practices.
Commitment and Scope
IJYR operates under the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing established by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME. All stakeholders—editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher—must uphold integrity, transparency, equity, and inclusivity throughout submission, review, and publication processes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Editors: Ensure fair, timely, and unbiased evaluation based solely on scholarly merit.
- Reviewers: Provide objective, confidential, and constructive assessments while declaring conflicts of interest.
- Authors: Guarantee originality, accuracy, and compliance with ethical standards.
Authorship and Contributorship
Authors must meet recognized authorship criteria, including substantial contribution, drafting or revision, final approval, and accountability. Contributor roles should be transparently reported to prevent guest, ghost, or gift authorship.
Originality, Text Recycling, and Plagiarism
Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. Plagiarism, redundant publication, and undisclosed text recycling are strictly prohibited.
Data Integrity and Availability
Authors must ensure data accuracy and availability in accordance with journal or community standards. Fabricated or falsified data will result in rejection or retraction.
Conflicts of Interest
All stakeholders must disclose financial or non-financial relationships that may influence the work. Disclosures must be complete and updated when necessary.
Research Involving Humans or Animals
Research must comply with ethical oversight standards, including IRB approval, informed consent, protection of vulnerable populations, and humane animal care practices.
Peer Review Ethics
IJYR follows a double-blind peer review process. Coercive citation, review manipulation, or unethical influence on editorial decisions is strictly prohibited.
Allegations of Misconduct
Suspected misconduct such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or peer-review manipulation will be investigated following established community guidelines.
Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
IJYR follows COPE retraction guidance. Corrections address honest errors, while retractions apply to seriously flawed or misleading publications.
Appeals and Complaints
Appeals may be submitted with evidence-based justification to the Editor-in-Chief at editor@ijyr.org.
Use of AI and LLM Tools
AI systems cannot be listed as authors. Authors are fully responsible for content generated or assisted by AI tools and must disclose such use transparently.
Editorial Independence and Integrity
Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit and journal relevance, independent of institutional, political, or commercial influence.
Privacy and Data Protection
Manuscripts are treated as confidential. Personal data collected during submission are safeguarded and used strictly for editorial purposes.
Reporting Ethical Concerns
Ethical concerns may be reported confidentially to the Editor-in-Chief at editor@ijyr.org.
